About Us

We only sell and support Dynamics NAV systems. We normally operate in the Yorkshire region although we have carried out work as far afield as Pittsburgh USA, and Munich Germany.

Microsoft, (as Navision before them) are investing heavily to attain business insight in the products they sell.  Particularly so with Dynamics NAV. Running a business is not easy.  Insight is everything, and yet it's poorly delivered in most systems.  The concept is that a user can hone his system to get the best out of the information it contains, that a business can hone its solution to gather the data in many ways and from multiple sources, to make the data as meaningful as possible.

We firmly believe in the development of businesses through technology investments that have proven return rates (cost savings in some way or another) and yet add enormously to the insight of management through the best presentation of information. The modern IT concepts of "Web Services", "Software as a Service", "Hosted Services" are all cost effective ways to improve businesses and business processes, and we want to help deliver them to you.  Hence our Company mission statement:

"Helping UK Businesses move to the Connected Economy".

There are currently a dozen or so staff operating from our offices in Wetherby near Leeds, including sister company Mobile Software Systems Ltd., which was founded by CoMet-IT and specialises in mobile software technology.  There are also a half dozen self-employed NAV consultants who we regularly call on for specialist work or for delivery of new systems. We are associated with Caltech, for the provision of Dynamics CRM systems and Biz-ICT for the provision of SharePoint systems.  We are a Microsoft Certified Partner.

CoMet-IT has delivered more than 100 Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) systems since its inception in 1997. Some of our largest implementations have included Hays Plc (18 companies), Croda International (7 overseas companies) Carclo Plc (20 companies), Hardy & Hansons Brewery, Roberts Foods, Herba UK, and Carl Bro UK (now Grontmij).

We have seen many technical innovations and developments in this extremely flexible and reliable system in those 10 years, from Version 1.3 to Version 5.

Profitability

Our results for 2007 were reasonable, but affected by the latest accounting standard for providing for prepaid support fees.  Trading Profits (before tax, goodwill amortisation, interest charges and prior year adjustments) was £43000 (2006- £59000).  The adjustment for prepaid support in 2006 and 2007 amounted to almost £50,000, which has been taken out of reserves. After amortisation of goodwill, and interest charges and a further small increase the provision for fees in advance the business still managed to make a small profit of £5000.

In 2008 we are expecting to make a similar amount of trading profit, and due to a number of other factors such as completion of goodwill amortisation, reduction of loans outstanding and the sale of all interests in Mobile Software Systems Ltd., we expect our net profit to be significantly improved.
